The board of the Ashford Village Neighborhood Association (AVHOA) is made up of five VOLUNTEERS. These people give generously of their time, knowledge and energy to manage the affairs of the neighborhood. The board typically meets as needed, approximately quarterly, in person to review maintenance contracts and legal documents, and confers nearly weekly by phone and/or email to chat about other news and business. Home owners are always welcome to attend a board meeting, and are encouraged to bring concerns to the board’s attention. If you’re interested in serving on the board at some point in the future, please let us know.

It may appear to most neighbors that there’s little to do, but that’s not the case at all. The most important role of the board is to be responsible financial stewards of our resources. To assist with that, like most neighborhoods, AVHOA contracts with a management company with expertise in the types of business, contracts and legal issues particular to neighborhood associations. The board directs the work of this company (RTI Property Management), and diligently reviews, oversees and approves legal correspondence, maintenance contracts, settlement of financial obligations, and more.

Much of the neighborhood’s daily operations, especially relating to maintenance and safety, are handled behind-the-scenes by RTI. Because of that, the board asks that neighbors direct communication through RTI. Any issue that RTI can’t handle quickly will be forwarded to the board. The newly expanded FAQ section of this website includes answers to the questions asked most often.
